Why Does This Matter?

Putting Two and Two together….

Those who are successful in sobriety; those who have built a firm foundation in recovery have had a PROFOUND change in how they think and react to life. This is what is known as a spiritual awakening!
Ask yourself! Is there anything that you’ve begun to see through a different lens? Even if you’ve been at Beacon House for a short while, your thinking has probably changed on a few things.
Most of us avoided life’s everyday challenges. If we intend to be successful in sobriety, we have to learn to face these challenges head-on. We can no longer afford to run from life’s experiences.
Interacting with customers, meeting deadlines, and leading a team come with varying challenges. It is in these challenges that we truly learn to grow. The thrift store is a great environment to learn personal skills, develop leadership qualities, strengthen your work ethic, and hone your recovery skills.
Use your time at Beacon House wisely. Every day is an opportunity to help someone, learn something new, or face a new fear. The lessons that you learn at Beacon House and the attitude you develop will set the foundation for the rest of your life.
